Meet Melissa Starr - Portrait Photographer

Welcome!! I'm Melissa Starr Brandel of Melissa Starr Portraiture, specializing in family, dance and senior photography. My photography journey began with capturing moments of my two oldest daughters, which then blossomed into photographing friends, family, and even our favorite dance studio, Extreme Dance Arts.

Over the years, my family and my Mid-Michigan photography business have flourished. I share this journey with my loving (and handy) husband, David, and together we have three daughters and one son.

I offer portrait photography sessions on-location throughout Mid-Michigan and also provide travel sessions upon request. My photography studio is situated on beautiful family property just outside of Saginaw, in Hemlock, making it a wonderful setting for both studio and outdoor photography.
